We don’t need to tell you how delicious chocolate is and many ancient cultures knew that there was something special about this food. For instance, did you know that the cacao beans were used as a currency during the times of the Aztecs in Mexico.

That’s right! All over the world many people love this amazing treat and there are many ways to enjoy it. Unfortunately, if it’s melted it could be a real headache to remove it from our clothes and especially our carpets.

But don’t worry! At Elite Clean Pro in Palm Desert, we are here to help you. So if you are currently experiencing some chocolate related problems, this guide is for you.

As soon As You Notice It...

We can’t really stress enough the fact that a huge step to remove a stain is to act fast. So before that chocolate settles, use a blunt knife to scrape the surface. Be gentle, remember that you could damage your carpet’s fibers very easily.

Alcohol

Chocolate has grease and you will need alcohol to get it out of your fibers. Put some surgical spirit on a cloth and lay it on the affected area,  use the backside of a spoon to work the stain and remember: Be gentle!

Test It, Before You Wreck It

Different fibers require different cares. So before you use any stain removal solution, do a patch test before you ruin a bigger area of your carpet.

Getting The Work Done

Use a clean cloth to apply your cleaning product and remember that if you rub the stain you may untangle your carpet’s fibers, try instead to gently blot the stain. Patience is a virtue so repeat as much times as it takes.

Rinse

Once the stain is gone use cold water to rinse the cleaning solution and to remove the remaining moisture simply use your vacuum cleaner.
